TUDOR Black Bay GMT
TUDOR Black Bay GMT

You loved it in 2018.  The Black Bay GMT quickly became one of the most popular offerings from Tudor. It was their first venture into an old-school sports watch, and many felt it held a close resemblance to the Rolex GMT at the time.

Tudor Black Bay GMT

This was both a plus and a minus at the same time. It allowed watch enthusiasts access to a style at a lower cost, but it also suffered from a look-alike-complex. If you want the look of a Rolex, you should probably get a Rolex, right?

But that was then.  Now, with a new look, the Tudor Black Bay GMT is truly its own watch. It has a flat, white dial with an opaline raised text. The iconic snowflake hand returns in this version, giving hints of the mythical “albino” Rolex GMT. This is a style not commonly seen on sports watches and is a bold choice for Tudor. This new version holds onto the famous “Pepsi” bezel from the first Black Bay. It’s a red and blue design that shows the time of day in a second time zone.

Speaking of time zones, the GMT function gives travelers the ability to show up to 3 zones. Precision and durability come first for Tudor. While the latest Black Bay GMT has a decidedly vintage inspired design, the technical workings are all modern. The movement is the manufacture caliber MT5652 COSC-certified movement that’s self-winding. The power reserve is a solid 70 hours, and this diver watch is waterproof up to 200m (660ft).

The red and blue “Pepsi” bezel was first introduced in the initial 2018 model, and this offering comes with a choice of a steel bracelet or a fabric strap. If the unique white dial isn’t your style, Tudor also offers a version with a black face and a choice of a leather or fabric strap.

Tudor has created a watch that not only stands out from others in the marketplace, but it also sets itself apart from other Tudor watches. Lovers of watches that have a look all their own will definitely appreciate the new Tudor Black Bay GMT.
