Grainger Mckoy Duck Goblet

The Grainger Mckoy Duck Goblet is an exquisite piece. An ideal addition to add to your collection and display proudly. The stem of the goblet is that of a mallard's foot. It is the most popular duck in North America, and could be suggested as one of the most handsome of its kind. The stem of the goblet is first rendered as a carving in wood and then wax cast. The top is then hand spun and finished.

The artist, Grainger McKoy, started out as a craftsman then turned his hand at sculpting. Growing up in the 1950s his inspiration was his father, who he observed and learned his craft from. As a teenager he further gained inspiration and honed his skills as a carpenter’s assistant. Once his love for craft and sculpting matured he continued to develop himself and his skill, with further studies at university.

Exhibitions showcasing his work can be found at The Greenville County Museum. Grainger Mckoy’s design work offers both jewelry for men and women as well as sculptures. All jewelry featured has been inspired by, and is of a bird of some kind. Each piece starts out as a piece of wood before his unique techniques are used to create beautiful and elegant timeless pieces for an acquired taste and fashion sense.
